Remedy weighs in on the evolution of bioinformatics…
John Andrews, a regular contributing writer for Healthcare IT News, recently took a look at this growing field and talked to Gary Kennedy, our CEO, and Hank Wu, our Director of Translational Informatics to get their insights.
Bioinformatics plays a central role in all that we do here at Remedy. Our products and systems are built to make biomedical data actionable, whether genomics, proteomics, standard lab test data and even basic patient vital stats. Our goal is to aggregate as much relevant data as possible, map and harmonize it so researchers and clinicians are comparing apples to apples, all in order to provide the most complete picture possible.
With this complete picture, one can then query and analyze, ask questions of the data, look for emerging patterns and begin to come up with answers and solutions to life science and medicine’s most profound questions. In short, bioinformatics brings to fruition the promises of personalized medicine.
Of course Gary, Hank and the other experts say it better than me, check out John’s article on the evolution of bioinformatics on the Healthcare IT News website.
